The Last Kiss (2006)
James' Take: Not bad at all
The Last Kiss is not a romantic comedy. Even though it features Zach Braff (the guy from Scrubs) in the lead, the movie is more a drama-comedy about romances.
I found it to be a good movie. Even somewhat intelligent, trying to portray reality versus idealization.
Thing is, I left the theater feeling it portrays women a little crazy and unhinged. The women in this movie are either screaming, stalking, or s… sexual goddesses (yes, there is one.)
The only "normal" woman was Jenna's mom, played brilliantly by Blythe Danner.
But the movie is very enjoyable thanks to some fine acting by all the cast members, with special mention to Casey Affleck, Tom Wilkinson, and Blythe Danner.
Oh, did I mention how unbelievably sexy Rachel Bilson was? I mean I never watched the OC, but now I'm-a gonna. And it's not just looks and raw sex appeal. I found her most compelling.. in her smile.
